Jun
June
Wow…where did the first half of the year go? I cannot believe it’s June already. In just 14 days my little boy will be 4. Again, how did that happen? It doesn’t seem possible.
We enjoyed our holiday weekend. Dustin and I both had 4 days off and we really enjoyed it. I had to take Mason to the doctor on Friday because he had strep throat. Luckily none of the rest of us came down with it. I definitely didn’t want it again!
We went to Olney on Sunday to spend some time with my dad. We also got to see Derek, Luke and Logan. Logan is getting so big and he is such a cutie! Avery is still absolutely fascinated by him and wants to be right next to him. We had a great visit! After visiting with them, we went to Dad’s land out east of Olney. We built a fire and had a weiner roast. The kids had a blast walking around the woods and Dustin had fun breaking up wood for the fire. It is so peaceful out there and I look forward to all the good times we’ll have out there. I love how Mason calls it “Papaw’s farm” because there is a barn. He even got out some John Deere tractors that he brought along and played in the dirt! We got home very late Sunday night but it was worth it. We all slept in on Monday and enjoyed a lazy end to the long weekend.

Goofing Around
Dustin and I went out on Friday evening with some friends. My friend Joy called me at work on Friday afternoon and asked if Dustin and I wanted to go to dinner with them when we both got off of work. I told her that we would have to try to find a babysitter but that if we could, we’d love to get out for awhile. I called Amy on my way home from work and asked if she’d be willing to babysit and she said yes! We went to dinner and then decided to meet up with Kyle and Traci and go bowling. We had such a good time. I’m glad we were able to get out of the house for a much needed evening with good friends!
Saturday and Sunday were pretty uneventful. We didn’t to anything at all.
Avery thinks sucking bowls and cups to her face is hysterical. I couldn’t resist those big blues!
Here they are hanging out on Sunday afternoon. It was such a dreary day. Due to someone needing to trade a day at work, I am in the middle of 4 days off. I’m hoping that the weather is nice the next couple of days so that we can get outside and do something!

Mason’s Turn
To be injured that is. The poor kid fell today at daycare. Avery and I dropped him off first (we rotate who goes to their classroom first to keep fighting about it to a minimum) and then went to Avery’s room. While I was in her classroom, his teacher came in to tell me that I needed to come look at his forehead. She didn’t know what had happened but she said it looked pretty bad. Sure enough, when I got there, it was terrible! His forehead was already black and the knot sticking out was almost the size of half of a tennis ball. It was massive. I sat in his room with him for about 25 minutes to make sure the swelling went down and to keep an eye on him. When I finally left to go to work, it looked a little bit better but his poor forehead is pretty bruised up. This picture does not even do it justice. And if you could have seen it right after it happened you wouldn’t believe that it could look this good.
So apparently he was going to go to the bathroom and then get sunscreen on so he could go outside. Well, he slipped on the floor before he got to the bathroom and smacked his forehead on the tile floor. Ouch.
At least Avery’s eye is looking better! I tell you, these kiddos of ours are tough!
